The motivation to build living spaces as so called "passive" ones with an annual heating consumption of 15kWh/sqm (usually 150 to 275kWh/sqm) is the chance to combine high living comfort with the highest energy efficiency and contributes to stem global warming because of CO2. In a passivehouse high comfortableness can be reached without a normal heating system in winter and without air-condition in the summer. An airtight, thermal bridge free and extremely heat insulated building cover causes that the warm inside air is stored in the building and the cold outside air is separated from the heated volume. Further "super windows" with a super low heat transition coefficient minimize the loss of heat, but at the same time catch the solar energy because of their high energy transition grade and save it in the floors, ceilings and walls. Even in winter these windows supply solar profits. In this case they are the heating source. Solar collectors with solar stratum storage in combination with a controlled ventilation system provide through heat recovery, water/air and supply air/exhaust air, another contribution to the heat supply.
